How music lifts our spirits and our souls.
LOWELL MASON HOUSE COMPETITION 2025-26
Lowell Mason was the champion of public school music education. The Lowell Mason House is working to re-imagine his 1792 birthplace in Medfield, MA. While Lowell Mason was innovative for his time, we are working to make sure the Lowell Mason House community continues to inspire others and to be forward thinking.

We are launching the 6th annual Lowell Mason House Competition with the theme of How Music Lifts Our Spirit and Our Souls. While the organization is working very hard to raise money and awareness for renovating Lowell Mason’s birthplace in Medfield, we continue to explore how music making, music composition and music therapy can help foster communication and community connections.

In the past, we have asked competition participants to share their best music education lesson plans. Another year we requested that the competition participants be innovative, inspiring and inclusive. Last year we asked how music inspires you and how that passion is shared with others.

This year the Lowell Mason House is asking the competition participants to demonstrate how music making turns turmoil into fulfillment, how music encourages communication and community, and how that passion is shared with others.
