Celebrating Lowell Mason's Connection with the Handel and Haydn Society

 

In 1827, Lowell Mason became the President of the Handel and Haydn Society.

 

Since 1815 Boston’s Grammy-winning Handel and Haydn Society (H+H) has performed Baroque and Classical music with freshness, vitality, and creativity. H+H has been captivating audiences for over 200 consecutive seasons (the most of any performing arts organization in the United States).

 

The Handel and Haydn Society Youth Choruses are a collaborative community where Greater Boston’s young singers hone their craft, express their creativity, and make unforgettable memories alongside forever friends. Their curious and courageous musicians gather each Saturday to explore a dynamic repertoire of music spanning continents and centuries, a testament to their passion for the living tradition of choral music.

 

We are excited to invite you to a special performance by the H+H Youth Choruses at the Medfield High School Lowell Mason Auditorium on Saturday, October 24 at 7:00pm. The program includes hymns from the Old Colony Collection by Lowell Mason and his contemporaries. Proceeds from this performance will benefit the historic Lowell Mason House in Medfield.
